Christmas In July

Ellie got a little Christmas present day. Well little depending on your definition. Her Aunt Melissa and Uncle Scott got her a pony. And she lOVED it. It took her a while to warm up, but when she did, all she wanted to do was ride. The first few minutes she rode around with a huge smile, then she noticed she did not have her hat on, she is already a cowgirl!

Tonight Meghan and Josh came over for dinner for Meghan's birthday. The weather was so un-July like--very nice and comfortable. We grilled out and then was able to eat outside without sweating :)

Shower Luncheon

A really good friend from IUS is due to have her first born (Jackson) within the next few weeks. Our gang at IUS decided together and have her a shower at Kansai (one of my favs :) We had such a great lunch and a good shower for her. We ended up staying there and talking for several hours. Good luck Jessica!

4-H Week

This has been such a busy but fun week. We spent most of the week at the fair watching the kids show their animals. The weather was gorgeous (70s most days)Here is a recap of the week.

First Ride

Ellie went on her first ride today. She was a little apprehensive at first, but she soon warmed up, and LOVED riding. The entire time we have been home tonight she has been playing with her toy horses (courtesy of Aunt Donna and Uncle Melvin) and riding her toy horses. I hope there are many more rides to come.

We have been preparing Ellie to ride for the first time on a real horse (she has several toy ones around the house). Here she is tonight practicing her look.

Christmas in July

So I see my dear friend Laura nearly everyday (we work together), and we just now exchanged Christmas gifts with our children. It is so sad, because it is about time to start purchasing this years gifts. We had a really nice visit, and the girls played so well together. The time flew by.

Today we went to Gattiland. Ellie loves pizza, so I knew I could not go wrong there, even if the games did not turn out to her liking. Mom went over with us. I call Bob and asked him to join us because he only works right around the corner.

Pre-4-H

It has been several years since I have been to the Floyd County 4-H Fair, now I remember why. It is nothing compared to Clark County's fair. There was hardly no one there, nor were there more than five booths. Such a let down. But Ellie did ride a few rides and enjoyed it.
