Some more new stuff

Today Ellie and I went to Mom and Dad's for lunch. Lunch was very good. Ellie got a few new toys that she loved playing with.

Bee-u-ti-ful Saturday

I knew that I wanted to get out of the house this afternoon, but I was not sure what I wanted to do. Finally I decided that I would take my baby girl out to lunch. We had such a nice lunch at Rocky's. We sat outside on the patio. Ellie loved the water. After lunch we went to Graeter's for some ice cream. I will have to post on here what Ellie does when you ask her if she wants cookies or ice cream. It is so funny.

Ellie has not been feeling well for the last few days. Her nose has been very runny. So we came home and took a much needed two hour nap. After we woke up it was time to go see Johnny as he left for his last prom. It is so hard to believe that he is already a Senior, and the year is almost over.

After pictures we went to eat and then to Walmart to get some meds for Ellie. She has really been playing with her babies the past few weeks so we got her a few essentials. She loved them.

Thunder 2009

This Thunder was a little bit different from the last few. The greatest thing about how I do Thunder is that no two years are ever alike. I spend much of the day with Ellie. We played outside in the beautiful weather. My best friend Amy came down from Indy about 6:00 and then she and I headed down to the river. The night was perfect. We got to see a little bit of the air show. Also I was able to catch up with my cousins.

After a yummy dinner at Kobe (no where near as good as Kansai however) Amy and I went to hang out with Jenn and her family to watch the fireworks.

Or not. The day started out just grand. We got to sleep in a little and then take our time getting ready. It was really nice not having to rush to get ready for church (we went Friday night). Our first stop was to Bob's Aunt and Uncle's to get Ellie's Easter basket from them.

Next we headed to Mom and Dad's to pick up our Easter baskets from them.

After we spent some time there, it was time to head to Nanny's for dinner. Dinner was yummy as normal. We were having a great visit with the family.

Then after dinner, every one started coming outside to play. Chloe was chasing a stick (which is something she never does) when she caught the stick and the stick hit the ground before she did. The stick went into her mouth leaving a huge bleeding hole when it came out. So we made a trip to the Animal Hospital ER to have her checked out. We were not there long, and we left with an antibiotic and pain medication. So needless we were pretty much worn out and ready to go home, but we still had one more stop.

My mother-in-law retired last month from GE. Susan has been planning her party ever since. Easter is Janet's favorite holiday, so it worked out well having it the same weekend. We had lots of food and with lots of fun. But boy are we tired. I have too many pics to post, so I will put together a slide show. So check back later for that. Ellie was in such a good mood. Everyone kept filling her little purse with Jelly Beans so she was high on sugar. But it worked out to our advantaged. But poor she crashed when we got home.

We had a good time, and now are looking forward to a busy Easter Sunday.

Easter: A Day Early

So Ellie has been getting a lot of new things over the past few weeks. I am beginning to think that she is quite spoiled. Early this morning, Sue sent Bob on an errand for Janet's Retirement party that we are having this evening. Ellie really loves fish, so I wanted to get her just a little fish in a little bowl. But Daddy did not think that was good enough for his baby girl.

Day Off

We were off today and it was such a good day over all. Even though it rained all day, that did not stop us from staying busy. Ellie and I slept in, YAY. Then we finally got up and ready. I was meeting a couple of my friends for lunch at Kansai (my favorite). Dad had taken the day off, so I asked him if he wanted to spend some time with Ellie while I went to lunch. He was excited to get to watch her of course. Lunch was great, it is always fun catching up with old friends who you never get to see. After lunch I went to get Ellie, who was having a blast with Dad. Then we came home and took a much needed nap.

After Bob got home we went to Church. This is the first time in my 26 years on earth that I will not attend church on Easter Sunday. But let me say, I really enjoyed going on Good Friday (it is the same service that they will get Sunday). I was very surprised, that the entire santuary was filled. Meg and Emily joined us. Ellie went back to the Toddlers room. She was pretty upset when I left, and I kept holding my breath waiting for her number to pop up. It never did. When I went back to get her she was riding around in the hallway in a stroller. They had took her for a ride to calm her down, and then she refused to get out. Oh my child already wanting everyone to adapt to her.

When we got home, we had planned to color eggs. Shelby and Janet came up to help us (Ellie could really care less). Also my dear friend Jenn and her husband are in town. She had wanted to spend some time with us, so they came over as well. We had such a great night, but we are definately to drop. We hope everyone else had a good Good Friday as well.

Dying Eggs Take One

Ok so often I do not mind the occassional change in temperatures. It keeps things interesting. But darn I sure am ready for Spring. I can not believe that I saw little snow flurries filling the sky in April. Mom made a pot of Chili and invited Ellie and I over. Also she asked if we could stay so Ellie and Tyler could dye eggs.

Mmm Sunday

This morning Bob and I slept in because we did not get in until very late. The banquet was not my idea of a good time, and to top it off we had to stay for nearly six hours. YIKES. Never again. Today was a very pretty and warm day. I was craving our fav Kansai. We invited Meg and Emily to join us right when they opened so we could beat the Sunday crowd. We were the second group seated at the first table. It was great. Dinner was so good. Then after dinner we went to H-Made Pie Kitchen for some yummy pie. We left stuffed.

After lunch we came home to play and clean (our normal Sunday activities). The storms started to move in around six and we were really lucky and not get the weather they at first anticipated. In between the two lines of storms I drove to the town quickly to get some milk for Ellie. On my way back home Bob called to tell me that they just issued a Thunderstorm Warning for us. I hate driving in the rain so I hurried home. Here is what I say when I turned on my road.

God is amazing. It must have been severe somewhere, but it was not here.

And there is more

I had a meeting this morning, so Bob was on Ellie duty. He called me around the time I was headed home to inform me that he had found an outside kitchen set for Ellie to play with. We have been looking for a playhouse (so if anyone knows of someone giving one away or even selling one, let me know) but we refused to pay $300-500 for plastic. He went to Once Upon A Child and found a cute kitchen set for cheap. He was so excited, he could not wait to get home so he could show it to Ellie. But Ellie had fallen asleep on the way home and she did not wake for about an hour and a half once they made it home. Finally she woke up and we took her outside to see her surprise.

It makes me sad to think that on Monday we will be having snow. April has got to be the most transitional month in the year here in the great ol' Ohio Valley.

Ellie is spending the night with Mom and Dad the evening. This weekend starts our busy season for the Spring. We have something going on from now to June almost every weekend. Blah. Tonight we are going to the NRA banquet. Let me tell you how excited I am (sacrasm). At least I will have a great meal, it is at Huber's.
