Kindergarten Celebration

I took a half day today to go and watch Ellie's kindergarten celebration. Mom and Janet, joined Bob and I. My baby is no longer a Kindergartener as of the end of next week.

After the celebration, I promised Ellie that I would take her to Huber's to pick strawberries. We took Janet up and had a yummy dinner before we went out into the fields.

Wednesday

I had to go and get my labs this afternoon after school. Ellie also had her last dance practice of the season. Here recital is on Sunday, and yet another end for the year. 

After my labs I met Meghan and Piper for dinner at Tumbleweed. 

Nick brought Ellie to me so that I did not have to drive all the way back to town. After I dropped Ellie off at dance, I walked the new walking bridge with Meg, Piper, and Eme. It was a beautiful afternoon, and there was something refreshing about walking. It was the perfect timing. I got back with about 10 minutes to spare before I had to pick Ellie up. I can see this becoming a new routine starting in the Fall. 

Memorial Day 2014

Today we spend the holiday at Nanny's. We also got to celebrate Tyler's 15th birthday. 

While playing outside we heard the ice cream truck. There was such excitement. So we went to the front of Nanny's house and waited for it to come. The girls both chose Bomb Pops. They were the biggest bomb pops that I have ever seen. This my friends is what summer is all about. 

Sunday Funday

As with normalcy, Ellie woke up with the sunlight. I tried to keep her in bed as long as possible (Bob and Maddie slept on). Finally, Maddie was awake and the girls could not contain themselves any longer. They started sneaking out of the room to see if Amy or Joe was up or if they could wake them up. 

After we all got up and ready, we went to one of our favorite restaurants in the Indy area for brunch. Granite City is one of the restaurants that you crave. While we have only eaten the brunch there, it is amazing and we have really contemplated driving up on several occasions just for the food. We had a nice meal and got our bellies full just in time to head home.

Of course we had to stop Edinburg to pick up a few things. :) Then we headed home. I went into town to the grocery store, and while I was there Janet called to invite us to dinner. Johnny was home for the weekend, and she had made dinner for him and the family. Ellie was really excited and surprised to see him. She sure does love her Johnny. 

Today was the last day of my cleanse and I am down 6 lbs. While I did not lose that much weight (I am blaming the steroids), I do feel better and now am more aware of what I end. I weigh my options when choosing calories, I want to make sure the calories I am putting into my body are worth it first. I do not expect to lose weight while I am on the steroids, but I do hope to maintain and not gain anymore until I go off of them. 

Wedding #1

Today was the first wedding of the year for us. We have several more weddings coming up in the summer and early fall. We started the morning off at a funeral for a dear friend of the family. She has been battling MS for many years, and she went on to be with Jesus this week. While it was such a sad event, her mass was beautiful in celebrating her life. Bob and I were both sad that we had to leave right after the funeral to make it to Muncie in time for the wedding. 

Next we headed to Muncie to watch my little cousin, Tyler get married. 

Sue and Shawn kept the girls this morning--my Moo Moo was playing dress up.

Travel ready

We make it literally right on time. We snuck in the back just as the attendants were starting to walk down the aisle. The church was beautiful and so was the ceremony.

It was such a great time, spending it with my family. I have an awesome family, and I am reminded of it each time we get together. I only wish we could get together more often like we did when I was younger. 

Bob and I left around 8:30/9:00 and head back to Fisher's to spend the night with Amy and spend some time with her. The girls were so excited to see Amy. Ellie went upstairs to bed about 10:30, while Maddie wanted to wait up for Joe to get home from work. In the meantime, Maddie convinced Amy that she needed to watch Frozen. So yes at 11:00, we started Frozen. It was a nice evening. 

Happy Birthday

Well God allowed me to see another year. Because of the doctor putting me back on steroids, I have decided that I do not want to gain any more weight--so I have put myself on a cleanse. It is a ten day cleanse that is actually not that bad and it is food that I love. I did not think the start of it through, however, a baby shower, my birthday, a wedding, and going to my favorite restaurant  in Indy all falls within the ten days.

When I got to school, two of my students "surprised" me with cupcakes, flowers, and they decorated my room. 

These girls are awesome and I will miss them next year. 

Ellie had Karate, and then after that Bob took me to O'Charley's for a yummy salad (one of the few things that I eat). 32 was not so bad.
