One, two teeth and crawling...no three teeth

Ellie has really started to develop over the past two weeks. She has been trying to cut a tooth for it seems like months, but finally the week of the 16th she got her first one. It was on the bottom. After it came in, she was back to a non-fussy baby for a couple of days. Then she started to get fussy again. Especially at night time. Last Monday we were playing on the floor, and I got a good look in her mouth (she is VERY protective over her teeth) and noticed that she had another tooth breaking through on the same side, but on top. She does not take a pacifier very often, but she has been chewing one like crazy.

Also last week (Tuesday) to be exact. Ellie started crawling. She had been flirting with the idea for several weeks. She started her movement by twisting and turning to get to any destination she wanted. Next she became a master at crawling backwards. Then just a few days before she took off forward, she would push herself up and lunge forward, drop down and lunge again. Finally on Tuesday she had had enough of not being able to get around...quickly, so she took off.

She has not stopped since. She is now crawling her way to anything with some height so she can pull herself up. She thinks that she can walk sometimes to, only to find herself crashing to the floor. But with her dedication and determination we will have a walker very shortly.

Then on Thursday she started to get really fussy, and this carried over into Friday. I thought maybe her second tooth was still bothering. So I gave her some Motrin and she was better. Then yesterday while we were playing I notice that she was cutting another tooth right next to the first one on the bottom. This poor girl is going to have a mouth full before she is 1. But she doesn't mind, then she can finally eat "real" food.

Well this concludes my updates. Maybe I will be able to keep things caught up. But don't bet on it.

Charlestown Founder's Day

It is hard to believe that Charlestown is one of the oldest town's in Indiana. 200 years! WOW. We started off the day watching the parade. Then Ellie and I came home for a much needed nap. Finally when Bob came in from his bedroom (the barn that is bigger than our house) we got ready and headed off to watch the Fireworks.

Balloon Glow

I was so excited when Charlestown announced that we would have a balloon glow. I have always wanted to the KDF balloon glow in Louisville, but we have never made it. So we got Shelby and headed up to the park.

40 Years

We had a 40th Anniversary party for Bob's mom and dad. It was something that we decided to do a few days before. For lack of planning it turned out great. They had a great time and was able to spend an evening with friends and family they don't see very often.

21 C's and a Writing Marathon

I have been helping out with the IUS Writing Project this month until the Advanced Institution started last weekend. Two Friday's ago I went with my friend Tiffany and her group on their writing marathon and had a super time.

Tyler had his 9th birthday party the first of June. WOW! It is hard to believe that Tyler is 9 already. Shannon had his birthday party at the YMCA.

Other May Happenings

My best friend from SHS moved to Portland.

This was an extremely hard time, and I miss

her very much.

Here are some of the other things that happened in May---to catch up. This pretty much sums up May. But it sure seemed a whole lot busier.

Mid-May

So I said that I would play catch up as soon as I got a chance. So I will start back around the middle of May.

Ellie turned six months, and boy has she been changing. She has not really changed in looks, but she does something different everyday.

Dear Ellie:

We took you to the doctor and they said that you weighted 15 lbs and you are 25 inches long. You love table foods, well you love any foods. You can sit up all by yourself. You are trying to climb on everything. You have not started to crawl, yet, but you really are not that interested. You have to cutest laugh and when you really get going you snort ;)

You still turn heads where ever we go and everyone wants to touch you. You don't mind, unless there are a lot of people around--and then you get mad and irritated.

Chloe has realized that you are not so bad, and she has started to play you. The game is keep away and how it works is--Chloe will place her toys just within your reach, when you pull yourself close enough to get it, Chloe when then pick it up and move it a little farther away and of course you will reach for it. This continues until you get mad or find something else to play with.

Mommy's favorite thing is when you first wake up and give her that big grin. You are such a pleasant baby--except when you don't get your way.

We love you and can't wait for the next months to follow.

Catch up

My internet has been down forever, the end of school, a six month old, husband out of town, that is just a few of the excuses that I have for not blogging.



So over the next few post (over the next few days) I will attempt to catch everyone up.

Monday

Today we found out that Bob's Uncle has kidney cancer. Please keep him in your prayers. They are doing surgery this week.

On a lighter note: Johnny and Maranda both received awards for their academic ability.

Busy Weekend

You can tell it is spring. We have gotten four wedding invitations already this season. I love weddings, but I was sad to find out that Bob's cousin was getting married on the same day as Karen and Jonathan. So we had a dilemma, where to go. We finally decided that we would go to Karen's wedding and then head to Columbus to Bob's cousin Shawn's wedding.

Karen's wedding was gorgeous. So simple and elegant. It was very fitting to Karen. She looked absolutely beautiful. We started out in the church, but Ellie has been fighting allergies and teething, so she had other plans. We ended up in the cry room.

After the wedding we left Charlestown and heading to Columbus in hopes of making it to the reception. Our plans could not have turned out better. We arrived at there the same time as everyone else, and before the bridal party.

We had a pretty enjoyable evening, and many of Bob's family members got to meet Ellie for the first time.

Boys will be boys

Let me start by saying that one day last week I came home to find Bob, Chloe, and the 4-wheeler covered in mud. Bob had been playing in the left over dirt from where we built the barn. Since it has rained alot the dirt has turned into mud. Last night John, Trish, and the boys came over. We had a cookout and then broke the 4-wheeler out.

This weekend

This weekend was Charlestown's Prom. I wanted to do something special for Maranda, so I took early Saturday morning to get her nails done. We had such a good time together. It is so hard to believe that she is a senior :(

Spring Break

Shew--Spring Break is over. Even though we did not go anywhere I feel like I have ran non stop. I had a to get a wisdom tooth pulled on Monday. I have real bad anxiety when it comes to the dentist, but with a few prayers and a lot of help from God, it was the best experience at the dentist I had ever had.

Bob took off Monday and Tuesday to spend time with Ellie and me. I had a bad headache on Tuesday, so he was so sweet and let me sleep in, while he took care of Ellie. Later that afternoon we took Ellie for her 4 month check-up. She had to get four shots :(

She weights 13 lbs and she grew more than 3 inches in 2 months and is now 24 inches

long. She is going to be tall and skinny.

Ellie was fussy all day Wednesday along with having a low-grade fever most of the afternoon and evening. It was such a beautiful day that I could not waste it inside. So Ellie and I went out shopping for her some much needed Spring attire.

Thursday was a boring, cold, rainy day. Friday was a little more exciting. I got to spend the afternoon with my cousin Kasey. She is growing up so fast and has turn into a beautiful young lady. She and I went to lunch and then shopping for a while. My best friend and her family got back late Thursday night from Florida and we could not wait to see them. So Friday evening we went over, shared pizza, and had a very nice visit. Ellie really loves Aunt Melissa and Uncle Scott.
