Indy Children's Museum

So I woke up this morning and decided we needed to do something fun, just the three of us...it won't be much longer we will have that opportunity. So after some research we decided to journey to Indy and visit the Children's Museum. Neither Bob or Ellie have either been so it was a real treat for both of them.

We had such a nice day. Ellie really loved it. We were gonna stop by the outlet malls on the way back, but she was asleep before we hit the interstate leaving the museum.

Dinner and Park

Today we went to the new Mexican restaurant in town, Santa Fe, for Meghan's birthday. It was so yummy. If you have not been there you have to check it out. After dinner we took the girls to the park for a few minutes to let them play. It was nice when we made that decision, but it quickly became very hot.

4-H Fair 2010

Fair week is always such a busy week, and we do not have kids involved yet (just niece and nephew). I can only imagine how much more busy we will be when Ellie is invloved.

SUNDAY: Horse Show and Rabbit Show

I did not get any pics of David riding. This is not his favorite day, and he was only in one event. We spent most of our time in the arena watching the Rabbit Show.

TUESDAY: Rides

We were down on Monday for David's horse show, but I forgot my camera at home. Davy did quite well. Ellie enjoyed playing with her friend Tanner (but I think that Tanner was a little overwhelmed by Ellie).

WEDNESDAY: Goat Show

It is Wednesday and our fair adventures have wrapped up. I can not spend much time in this awful humidity. There are lots of things I would like to do the rest of the week at the fair, but I think we have had enough fair fun for one year.

New things for Ellie

We started this lazy vacation day (for everyone else) off at Meg's house for a little swimming with she and Emmy. Now Ellie has been swimming before :), but this was the first time I put her in floaties. And wow, what a difference that makes. I don't know why I never thought of it before. It may be the fact that her arms are so little that I could not imagine anything plastic staying around them, but I found some really cute cloth floaties at Walmart for $5. She loved being able to swim around by herself, and I loved not having to hold and fight her the entire time for her to let go.

The Second new thing Ellie got to experience today was a private boat ride down the river. She loved spending time on the boat riding down the Ohio River. Now everytime we cross the bridge into KY she will let us know that it is the Ohio River and that is where she rode Jerry's boat :)

July 4th

Today we celebrated the country's birthday at my aunt and uncle's house. This is becoming sort of a tradition. We had a great dinner and the weather was so much better than last year when we all had to wear jackets and dodge the rain.

Downs after Dark

Bob got tickets from a vendor a few month ago for Churchill Downs. I love the track and being around all the horses. We were excited when one of the Downs after Dark seats were still available. We had a nice box that was shaded and away from the crazys below :) The theme was boots and barbeque. We had a really nice time and the weather was great. I love night racing.

YAY! It begins again

IUS Writing Project has officially began. I was so ready to refresh with my besties in education.

We are done. Ellie is finally potty trained. She does have occasional accidents (but it is too be expected). She has been pull up free all week (this even includes bed time). I really hope the next one is a easy,

Dentist

Let me first by prefacing that I hate going to the dentist. I have a super dentist, but I dislike the entire experience. But when we scheduled Ellie's appt several months ago I got scared for her. We tried to get her excited by telling her all "the great" things that she would get today. We took her to Dr Fleck and it help that her Aunt Sue used to work there and everyone knew her and she told Ellie exactly what to expect. Going to the dentist actually began something she was excited about and counting the days too.

She was such a great girl (mommy can take lessons). She was so excited and everyone kept talking about her Daddy (he was a patient until we got married) and Aunt Sue. We are looking forward to going back in December.

Thomas the Train

Since we starting potty training last year, we have been promising Ellie that as soon as she wears big girl panties we will take her to see Thomas. Well Thomas pulled into town just in time. This seriously was her motivation all year (well with a lot of help with Memaw). So today was Thomas day. I am so glad that we decided to go really early, because by the time our train ride was over, boy was it HOT. Ellie was miserable and we were miserable.

10 Year Reunion

Has it really been 10 years since I graduated. Some times it seems like yesterday. And that may be attributed to the fact that I am still in high school every day (teaching of course)!

We had a really good turn out. It just shows how close (and awesome) my class was.

**Oh and on a side note. The 2009/2010 school year FINALLY ended today. This has seri0usly been the longest year ever.
