IUSWP 2014

Another summer is coming to an end for the writing project. I just finished my 8th summer with IUSWP. I really enjoyed this group--while it was the smallest group we have had--everyone involved were so awesome.  Tonight was the celebration for all of the teacher consultants hard work.

Ellie normally comes with me, but this year Maddie came.

Uptown #8

Love spending time with the little lady. I cannot believe my Shelby will be a sophomore next month. She was two years old when I first met her and now she is all grown up. 

She loves Uptown as much as I do. 

This probably one of my favorite paintings that I have done.

One 4-H project 1/2 done, with three more to go. So proud of her and how good she did on this project with only minimal help from her Daddy.

Goal Meet

When Ellie started karate, she immediately fell in love with it. After earning her white belts a few days in, she set a goal to earn her yellow belt by the end of the summer. Today she earned all her stripes to test for her yellow belt this upcoming weekend. She was so excited.

When we went to the craft stores to get materials for 4-H crafts, we saw these cute blank puzzles for $1. The girls came home and created these master pieces.

Bridal Shower

Today was one of the first days of the summer that actually felt like summer. Hot and Humid and I LOVE it. The girls and I got to hang around at home and do nothing this morning. Then we got ready and headed out to Maranda's Bridal Shower.

Uptown Art #7

Tonight I met a few ladies from work at Uptown Art. I was pretty excited because it has been a while since I have been. This painting was a choose your own color. While I like this concept, it also stresses me out, because there are so many colors to choose from.

Graduation

It is no secret that I was very glad for the year to be over. It was probably one of the most long and stressful years of my career. Today was the end to the year, graduation. My co-sponsor Nicole and I work so hard each year to make sure this day is perfect. We were a little concerned with some of the class, but overall everything turned out well.

Now we move on toward changing the lives of the Class of 2015.

DDP Camp

Ellie went to her second Derby Dinner Theater Camp today and loved it just as much as she did last year. She is turning into quite the actor. I love how she is so ready to explore and try new things out of her norm, I would say comfort zone, but I am convinced that she does not have one. She is willing to try anything (except new foods).

Holiday World

So lying in bed this morning at dawn, (I cannot sleep these days past 7:00 am) I was reading about how the temperature may not break 80 today. So how the thought of going to Holiday World crossed my mind, I am not sure. I know it was so sporadic, but we have a pretty busy summer coming up, and we may not get another opportunity to take the girls there. So after some convincing with Bob, he was on board. We surprised the girls when they woke up-and happy they were.

It rained most of the way up, but as we got closer to HW, the rain stopped.

It was still cloudy and a little cool, but besides that is was really nice.

We rode them several times and it was probably the girls favorite.

She was sad that she could not ride the big one, but she did enjoy the one in the kid area.

Santa in JUNE??? :) No trip is complete to HW without seeing Santa and getting lots of fudge.

Holiday World 2014 is in the books and what a great time it was.
