A Taste of Spring

It was so nice last weekend (I am wishing that it is 60 now). We made sure Ellie was plenty warm and then we took her outside for some much needed fresh air.

ANOTHER snow day ;(

I have the feeling that we are going to be finishing up school in June. :(

Ellie woke up about 8:00 yesterday morning ready to go. She was in a great mood. So I bundled both of us up and headed toward town to pick up some much needed groceries. I dropped Ellie off with Dad, and then ran my errands in town. When I left the house, the snow was minimal and the roads were in great shape. (I have four-wheel drive, so I feel a little more at ease).

After I finished I went to pick Ellie up and then I headed to Melissa's to get my hair done. Ellie spent some time with Maranda. Maranda is so good with kids, especially Ellie.

After we got home, Ellie refused to nap. She was in such a good mood. So we played and played. Ellie has no interest in laying on her tummy, she just wants to stand. Yesterday I was able to get a few shots of her on her belly, before she got mad and wanted up.

Bob got home shortly after noon and he and Ellie settled down for a long snowy nap.

First of all, happy birthday Micah and Blair Kaelin and Brooklyn Tibbs.

Ellie's first birthday party was the Kaelin girls. Micah turned four and Blair is one. She slept most of the time, but woke up long enough to meet lots of new people.

The addiction continues

Bob's mom and dad stopped by last night after a day spent at French Lick. After we fed them dinner (which Bob made and it was very good) we broke out the Wii. They loved it. It did not take Bob's dad long to pick it up. He was throwing strikes and spares in the bowling game.

Janet caught on as well. The competition began and both we talking "smack." It was such fun to see them having a good time with a video game. Nintendo is on to something here--video game with physical interaction.

Sounds like fun huh? Well it was not so bad. I drove up yesterday to Indy and met up with the rest of my department. (they all went up the night before, but I could not be away from Ellie that long)

We went to a couple of session on how to be a "better" teacher, then we met one of my best friends who moved to Indy last year. (She taught with us, before she decided that she wanted to be a nurse)

Wii Addicting Part II

Mom, Dad, and Nick came over this evening, and of course we broke out the wii. Let me first go back to yesterday. Bob and I found out that for about $5 a piece you can download old games to be played on the wii. So we decided that we would see if we could find Super Mario Bros. And we did, and it was awesome, and we cannot stop playing it. It is weird how technology is so advanced, but yet we still love and cherish the old games. (Oh and we also downloaded the original PacMan)

Anyway back to this evening. Nick started on Mario Bros and immediately wanted to play again and again. Then Dad wanted to play bowling. He and Mom used to play in a league many many years ago. So after he figured out the wii version he quickly took over the score board.

Any Suggestions

So we come home after church this morning to find that it had snowed. Our entire yard was covered.

So what's the big deal right? Well ONLY our yard was covered with snow. How does this happen?

The snow line is exactly on our property line.

It is almost Easter

Easter is quickly coming upon us and this makes me excited for two reasons. One it is Ellie's first Easter and two it is the beginning of Spring Break. I can't believe how quickly this school year has flown by. Only four weeks until SB, Yah.

I have read several of the books that make suggestions about how to raise your baby. Those books and most doctors say to wait until 4 months to start feeding solids to babies. I can't imagine drinking only milk for 4 months. Ellie started drinking a lot of formula every 2 hours about three weeks ago, so we started her on cereal and she loved it. She was back up to eating every 3 hours or so. But here recently she is back to wanting to eat every 2- 2 1/2 hours. She has also showed an increased interest in us when we eat. She stares at us while we are eating with her mouth open the entire time. If she is in my lap when I am eating something, she grabs at it the entire time and then gets mad when I don't give it too her (her temper will be another blog one day ;) ). So after one of her fits when I did not give her a bite of
my pizza I broke out the squash.







Squash...Yum :p I could not feed her fast enough. She wanted more. I had to cut her off.

By the time she was done, she had it all over herself. Needless to say, bathtime followed quickly after.

When she was about finished, she decided that she wanted to feed herself.

Such a big girl.

Mom fed her the rest today and she was just as eager to eat as she was last night.

We will try something new in a few days to make sure that she does not have an allergy to yummy squash (yuck) At least she is eating her vegtables, I can't say the same for us.

Wii Addicting

I have been wanting a Nintendo Wii for a long time, but I refused to pay a high price for one on Ebay. Just recently I finally got the opportunity to get one, so Bob quickly snagged it up for me. He said we could call it my Valentine's present, and I was ok with that. Now were are totally into the Wii. It is so much fun, and I feel like I am getting a workout everytime I play it.

Yet again, a Friday out of the ordinary

We went to visit my Nanny. She has not really seen Ellie since Christmas. Ellie was is such a great mood, and I am always up to spending time with my Nanny. Here are a few pics from the evening.

I found an awesome place to get pictures done. (See my post 3 months for examples). It is called Click, and they are located in the shopping center in front of Meijer on Charlestown Rd. Their prices are really resonable, and the best thing is that they print the pictures while you wait. No more waiting for 2-3 weeks for them to come in. Snow Day Times Two

When I was younger, I used to pray for snow days. As I entered high school, I prayed for two hour delays because back then we did not have many built in snow days, so we had to make them up at the end of the year. It seemed like we were always going to school in June. Now that I am a teacher, I still do not want snow days, but I do LOVE 2 hour delays. Ellie is not old enough yet to enjoy the snow, and I hate snow. If I could live in a place and never see snow again that would be ok with me. But I will enjoy it for Ellie next year when she knows what is going on. Here are a few pictures from our snow filled days of fun ;)
