3 Months

Wow it i so hard to believe that Ellie is already 3 months old. She changes so much every day. I guess I will follow suit and write a blog especially to my baby so she will have something to look back on.

Ellie, you are growing so fast. We are packing away an outfit everyday that you have outgrown. You have also started telling Memaw what you want to wear and what you don't. You love to play with your toys, now, and can hold them for a long time in your hands. Your smile is contagious and no matter how bad Daddy or Mommy are feeling, you can always put a smile on our face.

People flock to you. No matter where we are, people will always stop and make such a fuss over you, as long as they keep their distance. You do not like crowds, but love spending individual time with ALL the people who love you.

You are sleeping soundly during the night (just this morning you slept in until 8:00). Mommy has to wake you up most mornings to feed you before she goes to work (sorry). You like to stay up and play most of the day. You have not mastered playing by yourself, and so you must be entertained every minute you are awake.

You love your blankys and hold onto them while you are sleeping.

You love listening to music, epecially Mommy's old school R&B. Anything that has a catchy beat, you love to kick your feet too. (We already have a dancer).

You love Chloe, but make sure that she keeps her distance. If she gets too close you let her know by pushing her away. You love to pet her and you have started to gently tug her hair, but she doesn't mind because she thinks you are scratching her.

Bath time is great time. You love to splash and kick, but hate getting out. You love to be just in your diaper and your feet must be free at all times.

You talk constantly and we can't wait to hear what you have to say.

You are so special and are growing so fast. We can't wait to see how much you have grown in the next three months.

Another Unusual Friday Night

This evening one of my good friends Laura from work came to dinner with her husband and two beautiful girls. We had a nice dinner, (Yes, I cooked and it was good). Her two girls (Allyson and Emily) love Chloe and wore her out completely. Ellie also loved the attention.

Not a typical Friday night

We never leave the house before seven on Friday nights. But this Friday we were gone by 5:00 and it was great. Ellie spent the day with Aunt Trish and Uncle John. So when Bob picked her up they decided that we should all go out to eat. We went to one of our favs, Texas Roadhouse. After we were finished (at 7:00, when are normally eating at 9:00) we decided to TRY to go and visit with my aunt and uncle. To our surprise they were home, and we spent a great evening with them.

For Bob's birthday I got him tickets to Reba and Kelly Clarkson. They put on an awesome show. It was very low key. Here are a few pictures from the show.

Bob turned the big 3-0 on the 13th and we had a surprise party for him. We had about 33 people come and we had a good time, except for the fact that Ellie got tired of being passed around about 15 minutes after we arrived. She was fussy the entire night.

Ellie had her two month check up. She is now weighing in at 10 lbs. Wow! How she has grown. What I did not like, however, is her getting shots :( It was so pitiful and it made my heart break. I am so glad that Bob was there.

Also she has said her first word, "hi." She has a toy that says hi and sings the ABC's and 123's (she will know them before she turns one because of that toy-I always said that I felt sorry for teacher's kids, now my child is one) and many times when we turn the toy one she will say hi back. Friday she was at Aunt Sue's house and when Uncle Shawn came home from work he said "hi" to her, and a clear as possible she looks up at him and says "hi" back.

We have been truely blessed because we have a sleeper. I have been in the past using her to wake me up on the weekends, but last Sunday (she was my alarm clock for Church) she did not get up until almost 8:30 (and had been in bed since 10:30). Is 10 hours "normal" for a newborn?

2 Months

Wow how the time flies. I can not believe that my little baby is already two months old. She is getting bigger everyday. She can hold her head (has been since birth), roll over one way, coo, laugh, and just recently she has found her hands. She goes for her checkup this week, so then I will post her numbers.

Happy 2008

We had such an awesome 2007, I hope that God has just as many blessings for us this year. Here are a few things that filled our year.

January- pretty uneventful, just like a January should be.

February- we found out we were pregnant

April- Got to go back to Prom (at Scottsburg HS) as a teacher

May- Got my new Trailblazer, got accepted into IUS Writing Project

June- IUS Writing Project, Eldora (Tony Stewarts race track), Ultrasound (It's A Girl)

July- New Orleans Conference

Aug- Start my second year of teaching

Sept- Baby Showers, Bob started building "The Barn"

Oct- Great fall events

Nov- Elizabeth Grace born

Dec- a whole month to spend with my baby

Tonight was a very special night for Ellie. Brother Sonny and 20 of our closest friends and family came over to join us in the dedication of our baby girl. I can't wait to see what God has in store for our sweet baby. She has so many people who love her and who will be praying for her as she grows up. Here are a few pictures.

1 month

It is so hard to believe that my baby girl is already one month old. Time flies so fast. She changes everyday. Here are a few of her Christmas pictures.

It is hard to believe that my baby girl is already 3 days old. She was born on Monday afternoon and weighed 6 lb 9 oz and is a long 21 inches. We named her Elizabeth Grace and are calling her Ellie. Here are a few pictures of her with more to follow.

Just Waiting

My pregnancy has flown by until Monday. Friday was my last day of school and of course we had a busy weekend. But Monday came and it seems as if these last three days have been the longest of the entire 39 weeks. I went to the doctor on Monday and there was no dialation. I will go back on next Monday, and if she has not come by then we will more than likely induce on Tuesday or Wednesday.


I am the type of person to have everything prepared and ready to go much too soon. And that is the case. I keep cleaning my house over and over, checking my bag, making sure that we have everything for her to come home too, and I find the same outcome...I am ready and have been ready for weeks. Now I sit and wait.

I am however looking forward to Trick or Trunk today on the Square. This is one of my favorite things to do in October. We always dress Chloe up and pass out candy with the Fire Dept.

Less than six weeks

It is so hard to believe that my pregnancy is almost over. It has gone by so fast. It seems like yesterday I began to tell everyone that I was finally pregnant. Many people complain about how the last few months just drag on, but for me they have flown by quicker than the first few months. I think school has a lot to do with that. I am trying to finalize everything while trying to transition my sub into my classes, and it seems like there is not enough time.

Everything has been going well with the pregnancy. God has looked out for both my little girl and myself. She has a strong heartbeat and progressing nicely. I can't wait to see what God has in store for her life.

Hopefully I will get a chance to write soon, maybe even before the baby is born.

Happy Fourth

Well we found out a couple of weeks ago that we are expecting a girl. She is very active, has a very strong heartbeat, all of her fingers, and toes; what more could expecting parents ask for. At my checkup last month my doctor asked if I could feel her moving, I told him rarely I thought I was feeling her move. He said that it would not be long until I could feel her often. Now (thanks to God and answered prayers) I feel her everyday ALL day. At nighttime she even lets her daddy feel her kick.

It is so hard to believe that 22 weeks have already flown by. She will be here in no time. Now that I am done with the writing project (the greatest class I have EVER taken) I can focus on preparing for the beginning of the school year, and planning for a sub.

Thanks for all of the comments and concern. Maybe one day I will be more frequent with the blog. I have sooo much energy these days it is hard for me to set down for more than a few minutes.

PS: if I can ever get my scanner to work I will post some ultrasound pictures.
